My work aims to harness historical moments, personal experiences, or theoretical concepts, and then construct my work as a physical manifestation of those ideas. As the content of my work may shift from moment to moment, the aesthetic quality of my work remains the same. By largely basing the aesthetic of my work around the refinement of form, fluid contour of line, and polished surface quality, I work to showcase the natural beauty, expressive quality, and simplicity of the ceramic material itself. Through maintaining a high quality of aesthetic refinement I hope to convey my personal dedication and power of intention, thus peaking the viewers’ interest, and allow them a moment to pause and reflect on the historical significance, emotional underpinnings, or ideological content of each piece.
